The Fort Logan neighborhood is in the furthest southeast section of metro Denver.  It contains Fort Logan National Cemetery, which was built in 1949. The Fort Logan Mental Health Center lies south of the cemetery and shares 550 acres on the same grounds.  Ft. Logan was named after Union Army Civil War general John A. Logan, it use to be a U.S. Army post.  The Friends of the Historic Fort Logan have worked to preserve some of the buildings and educate others about the history of the original fort.  It also provides tours of the area.
